It is about 20 kms from Rishikesh covered with forests providing a pleasant environment. Government has declared Chilla a sanctuary. A canal from Ganga feeds the reservoir to spot many animals. A stay at the tourist lodge is preferred by most tourists to enjoy the peaceful scenic surroundings. Chilla Wildlife Sanctuary, a haven for animal watchers is about 8 kms. from Haridwar.
