| Duration : 18 Nights / 19 Days Destinations: Guwahati - Shillong – Cherrapunjee – Shillong - Kaziranga - Kohima - Touphema - Kipfiizha - Dziikuo valley - Kohima - Khonoma - Kohima - Jorhat - Sibasagar - Jorhat - Majuli – Guwahati Day 01: Shillong - Arrival, Welcome Ceremony After arrival at Guwahati, Indian Wildlife Tourism representative will greet and assist you to transfer you to Shillong by car. En route we will stop for lunch at Borapani Umiam Lake, a fantastic placid lake with its surrounding sylvan hills. Upon arrival in Shillong you will be accommodated at a well-maintained hotel. Dinner and overnight stay will be the hotel. Day 02: Shillong: Krem Mawmluh Cave: Cherrapunjee After hearty breakfast at the hotel drive down to Krem Mawmluh Cave located a half of a kilometre west of Cherrapunjee. The specialty of the cave is that it has five rive passage with remarkable proportions. Apart from exploring this seven km long cave you will also explore and enjoy the inviting waterfalls of Cherrapunjee. You will have opportunity to visit Nohkalikai – known as the fourth tallest waterfall. You will be accommodated at hotel at Cherrapunjee. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel. Day 03: Cherrapunjee: Double Decker Living Root Bridge Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and then take a walk to the Double Decker Living Root Bridge. Admire this engineering marvel of Indengenous Khasi Tribesmen. Enjoy picnic lunch at the bridge. In the evening experience the spectacular views of the Khasi Hills and the Plains of Bangladesh. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel at Cherrapunjee. Day 04: Cherrapunjee – Shillong – the Scotland of the East After hearty breakfast at the hotel, visit to the Elephanta Falls, and enjoy the spectacular views of Shillong peak. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel at Shillong. Day 05: Shillong: Sightseeing of Shillong Have a very hearty breakfast at the hotel and indulge yourself in full day sightseeing tour of Shillong with picnic lunch. Explore the natural surroundings of Shillong and appreciate them. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel at Shillong. Day 06: Shillong-Kaziranga (280 km 5 hrs drive) Have a relaxed breakfast at the hotel and then drive to Kaziranga National Park. Upon arrival you will be accommodated at your pre-booked hotel. Relax at the hotel or you may go to meet the nearby people to know about them, their culture, their lifestyles, etc. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel. Day 07: Kaziranga: Elephant Safari, Rhino. Today in the early morning you will explore the central area of Kaziranga National Park on an Elephant Safari. Here you will have opportunity to see unicorn rhino (one horned rhinos) along with a wide range of rare species. You will also see herds of elephants and other animals. You will have opportunity to see these animals in their real surroundings. After lunch you will enjoy Jeep Safari to the central area of the park. Spend rest of the day at leisure to explore the nature. Enjoy the nature friendly tourism. Dinner and overnight stay will be at the hotel. Day 08: Kaziranga – Kohima After breakfast at the hotel we will drive to Kohima. On arrival at Kohima, will take lunch and proceed to Touphema Village Resort which is 41 km from Kohima and run by Angami Naga Village Community. Dinner and overnight stay will be at Touphema Tourist Village. Day 09: Touphema – Kohima – Kipfiizha Have a very hearty breakfast at resort and then drive to Kohima to visit its attractions. You will have opportunity to visit State Museum which depicts the Naga Culture. It displays the lifestyle, and culture of Naga tribes. Don’t miss to taste Naga Cuisine. You will also have opportunity to see and observe art and crafts of Naga Tribes. Later proceed to Kipfiizha. Upon arrival you will accommodated at Dimori Cove Guest House. Dinner and overnight stay will be Dimori Cove. Day 10: Kipfiizha – Dziikuo valley In the morning, drive to Dziikuo Valley via Jakhama Village. The drive consumes the times of 4 hours. Explore the regions. Visit the waterfalls, rivulets flows, springs, variety of flowers, etc. Enjoy trekking and eco adventure. Today you will be accommodated at rock caves or tents or rest house with all meals. Day 11: Dziikuo Valley Kipfiizha Enjoying trekking, return to Kipfiizha. Upon arrival you will be accommodated at Dimori Cove with all meals. Day 12: Kohima – Khonoma –Kohima Have a hearty breakfast at Dimori Cove and drive to Khonoma, Angami Tribal Village and the home village of father of Naga Nationalist movement of Angami Phizo, located on the a hillock. Return to Kohima for dinner and overnight stay. Day 13: Kohima- Jorhat After hearty breakfast at the hotel, take drive of 4 hours, 200 km to Jorhat. Jorhat, the tea capital of Assam is a well known for its tea-estates. On arrival at Jorhat, you will be accommodated in the Thengal Mansion, a historic ancestral house of a Tea Planter amidst an Asssamese village, 15 km from Jorhat. The 72-year old Thangal Mansion is to answer the queries on Assamese culture and tradition. After lunch and rest, take a walk in a nearby village to see the simplicity of their lives. Day 14: Sibasagar: Ranghar, Tolatol Early in the morning we will depart for Sibasagar, the ancient capital of ahom kingdom (1699-1788). Taking a brief rest after lunch, visit Ranghar the Capital and military station of Ahom Kings, then we visit the Tolatol Ghar a seven storied building- Four above and Three Below the ground. The other significant archaeological remains in Sibasagar are Shiva Doul, Vishnu Doul and the Tombs of Ahom Kings and Queens in Charaideo Hillock. Return to Jorhat for overnight stay. Day 15: Jorhat – Majuli: Biggest River Island, presentation on wild life Early morning drive to Majuli the biggest River Island in the world and seat of Baishnavite monasteries. You will cross-mighty Brahmaputra on a ferry to reach this historic Island. Overnight stay at the Govt. circuit house at Majuli. Day 16: Majuli: Baishnavite Monastery, Cultural program Majuli, the biggest river island, laps Kamalabari Satra and Auniati Satra, centers of Vaishnavite culture. Early morning visit to these satras and admire the close proximity of nature that thrills. Arrive back at Circuit house and in the evening enjoy the cultural display by the artists. Day 17: Guwahati: River cruise, City Early morning drive to Guwahati (340 km 6hrs). On arrival check in to your hotel. In the evening set out on a River cruise to watch the sun go down the Brahmaputra River and see yourself why the river is locally called 'Luit'- colour of blood. Overnight at your hotel. Day 18: Guwahati: Assam Silk, Pilgrimage centres Today you will visit Sualchuci, the Manchester of Assam. Which produces some of the finest qualities of 'Adi' and 'Mugai' silks hand-woven and presented in colourful dresses. There are lots if you want to buy as souvenir. Also visit Hajo an all religion pilgrimage centre. Arrive back at your hotel by afternoon. Rest of day at leisure. Day19: Guwahati – Departure Enjoy relaxed breakfast at the hotel. Relax at the hotel till departure. After a farewell you will transferred to the airport or railway station. |
